JANUARY 2001 In December due to the torrential rain and the flooding of several local roads (including the A48) the committee decided that it would be best to postpone the visit of the speaker Mr Clarke. Thanks to the mobile phone we were able to make contact before he left home! We had a relaxed business meeting followed by a really good chat. We wished bon voyage to our secretary Anne Bailey who was leaving the next day for a short break in New York. Buffet refreshments were enjoyed followed by a very simple quiz. Hopefully our meetings in the new year will not be disrupted by the weather as we look forward to an interesting programme. With very best wishes to all for a Happy and Peaceful New Year.
