Chris Taylor [ctaylor@microed.com.au]
hi
thanks for the email, i had sent some pictures to John Nettleship just
recently for the inclusion in the Caerwent historical trust pictures but
have had no response. I will attach them to this email. it is of the
entire dally family outside their " Green lanes cottage " home , the
only two missing is my grandmother who I think had emigrated to
Australia and Walter who died when only six months old. the names of all
are printed at on the photo and I have written their birthdates on the
side. and another photo of my great grandfather George Dally with his "
road gang " not sure of when this photo was taken but it might stir up
some old memories
kind regards

Information on DROWER 15/7/2006
Pete [pgd01@optonline.net]
I am trying to research my ancestors from this
area. Bryan used to have a site on the DROWERs but it is now gone. My
grandfather was Arthur James Drower and I would like to establish some type
of research contact.
Thanks

Contacting Anthony Morgan 15/7/2006
Pete [pgd01@optonline.net]
My grandfather was Arthur James Drower who came
to the US in the late 1800's or very early 1900's- my father Arthur James
Drower Jr. came with his mother in 1907 and his father was already here. .I
believe that he is the son of the Drower mentioned in Bryan Morgan's site
DrowerPower. I am trying to find information on the Drowers . I assume
Anthony is Bryan's son and I would like to find out if he has any of his
father's information or if he could help in any way..
Could you please forward this message to him.
Thank you for your assistance.

Great site 28/8/2006

Hello, firstly let me say what a great site you have and the photos are very
interesting. I wonder if any one can help me. I am researching my grandfathers
family tree. I think he was born in 1905 and lived in Penhow and we have a
photograph of him (you could put it on your website if you wish) with his
workmates at the Penhow Quarry. My sister nursed an old lady at the Royal Gwent
a few years ago who said she remembered my grandfather and his family and that
he had quite a few brothers, we know nothing about them. Do you know of how I
could research where he lived and if he was baptised in one of the local
churches. I do not know the exact date of his birth, his name was John Hayward
and he was known as Jack. I would be grateful for any advice on how I might go
about researching his birth etc.
Thank you

I lived on the outskirts of Caerwent for 20
years and have seen many changes some wonderful and some not so wonderful,
the only problem I have with the village is the state of the church yard, my
Mum is buried at the church and the appearance on many occasions is quite
frankly disgraceful and disrespectful on my last visit my husband and I
found a BOAT chucked in the nettles WHY here of all places WHO is to blame
for this, now I hear that some graves have been vandalised what is going on
with this village I once called home, I am now starting to think I'm better
off having moved from CaerwentPlease
parish council sort out these problems before you lose the many visitors
from all over the world which visit every year
Relatives of James Endicott Drower 19/11/2006
Pete [pgd01@optonline.net]
I am trying to contact relatives of Mr Morgan's
who may have access to his records on James Endicott Drower or a copy of his
"DROWER POWER" web site entry. I am trying to trace my grandfather's
relatives. My grandfather was Arthur James Drower and I believe that he may
have been the son of James Endicott Drower.
I thought that I had made an entry in the 2006
book but I don't' see one so I am hoping that you can help.

Dr Cropper 13/12/2006

Dear Sir,
I wanted to thank you for hosting the page
about Dr. Cropper on your website, which references his experiences with the
Britannic's sinking. You mention his grandson and I wondered if it might be
possible to get in touch with him? I understand you may not wish to give me
his private contact details, yet I would be willing for you to pass mine on
to him instead.
I have been interested in Britannic for
several years, and researched the ship (if you check my website's link
you'll see a page for my book on Britannic and her sister ships). It would
be wonderful to see if we can exchange data as we both might learn something
new for our files.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks
for your time, and I wish you all the best for the festive season.
Best wishes,
I
