Dear Friends,
Membership The subscription for 2003 is £5.00 per household, £3 per individual. Paid up members will not be expected to make a contribution to our expenses when they join in walks etc. We hope existing members will renew and new members join. Please pay to our Treasurer Jennifer Powell or any Trustee, if possible by the end of March. Best wishes John Nettleship Secretary, Telephone 01291-420745 e-mail john@rose-cottage.freeserve.co.uk All residents of the local area are welcome to consult our collection of items about Caerwent. It includes copies of the original excavation reports from Lord Tredegar's team, 1899 - 1911, reprints of many other archaeological and historical articles, some newly written books and booklets, in fact anything of reasonable local interest. Where possible illustrations etc have been incorporated to reinforce the local connections, like "who-found-what-and-where?" Caerwent Parish Church has kindly provided a home for the Library - it is in the small cupboard under the Visitor's Book at the back of the Church. You are welcome to browse through it anytime when the Church is open and not being used for services etc. Please replace the items after using them and unless you are a paid up member of the Trust, don't remove them from the Church. We are not able to make our full collection available in this way. However, if you don't find what you want, ring our Archivist Mark Lewis, 01633 400673, or me and we may be able to help. The following are available to order - phone 01291 420745 or contact any trustee of the Caerwent Historic Trust. They are A4 sized photocopies and computer printouts, presented in slide binders and reprinted with the consent of the author where appropriate. Several more titles are in preparation.
