John (Jack) Hayward

Hello, firstly let me say what a great site you have and the photos are very interesting.

I wonder if any one can help me. I am researching my grandfathers family tree. I think he was born in 1905 and lived in Penhow and we have a photograph of him (you could put it on your website if you wish) with his workmates at the Penhow Quarry.

 My sister nursed an old lady at the Royal Gwent a few years ago who said she remembered my grandfather and his family and that he had quite a few brothers, we know nothing about them.

 Do you know of how I could research where he lived and if he was baptised in one of the local churches.

I do not know the exact date of his birth, his name was John Hayward and he was known as Jack. I would be grateful for any advice on how I might go about researching his birth etc.
