Caerwent Playing Fields Committee Summer is just about over now – it was the 3rd Tuesday after the second Wednesday! As so many of the other local shows were cancelled this year we were pleased that ours could go ahead. Thank you to everyone who came and helped on 28th July over 20 people painted, strimmed, cleaned and generally made the hall and play areas look much better. A special thank you for tidying up and cutting down all the overgrown trees and shrubs behind the hall – I know you don’t want your names mentioned but I’ll buy you a pint on show day. We hoped to have the car park extension completed before show day, unfortunately the weather, Monmouthshire County Council and builders were all against us. It will be done before the winter sets in! We have a new program of events for the winter ready to start in September on the 14th we have an all girl band – “UNDERWIRED” – Vocalist keyboard, Bass and Lead guitar with a fabulous drummer. They performed recently at the Rock & Fountain and were not allowed to leave until after the third encore. Christmas Shopping Night will be on Friday 30th November, and the lovely Leanne is planning the Children’s Parties for early December, but she will need some help, so give me a ring if you want to volunteer. They are your children after all. As always if there is some kind of entertainment you would like to see in the hall let me know. Remember ALL the profits (if any) go back into the hall and playing fields. We hope to see you all in the hall soon.
