Caerwent Playing Fields Committee

Many thanks to Sonia Whitfield and Daphne Spence who donated Christmas decorations to the village hall, much appreciated.

“BARNYARD” was a great success in February and our second Cinema Night this year is on Friday March 23rd, when we will be showing FLUSHED AWAY. Cert U. This film is from the same team that made Wallace & Gromit and Shrek. See poster later in the magazine.

Tickets @ £3 for adults and £2 for children are on sale at the door, but remember numbers are limited, if you want to pre-book your ticket, give me a ring, as we want people from the village to have first option on the seats.

Don’t forget - Back by popular demand, Frank Hennessy and Friends - April 27th. Tickets £7 and £6 concessions including supper, we had a great night last year so book you tickets early. (Note correct lower price)

Vivi & Sean O’Mahoney, new to our village, are offering FREE Reiki sessions in the Hall on Saturday 10th March to book your session please call them on 01291 431651 – see poster later in this magazine.

As always if there is some kind of entertainment you would like to see in the hall let me know. Remember ALL the profits (if any) go back into the hall and playing fields.

Congratulations to the February winners of the 200 club

200 CLUB DRAW FOR FEBRUARY

MRS I EVANS £30.00

MRS L EVANS £20.00

ROB KENNY£10.00

As I said in previous months newsletter, we have struggled with the 200 Club over the last two years, and not enough people are in it to make it viable any longer, therefore we will be holding the last draw in March when the annual subscription is due. If you pay by standing order, please cancel this from April. Thanks to everyone who has supported this and to Lesley who has administered it for the last few years.

Reminder - Stewart Stirling (07926 648021) and Derrick Williams (07818 047731), two of our villagers are off on an “Awesome Trek” beginning 21st July in aid of Cancer Research Wales. are walking across the entire Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean – 500 miles in 50 days and 150000 feet of ascent. They are holding two functions in the hall 17th March and 14th July to help raise, much needed, money. Give them as much support as you can for this very worthy cause.

We hope to see you all in the hall soon.
