Caerwent Playing Fields Committee We held our first Cinema Night of the winter, unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we couldn’t show Over The Hedge but showed Curious George instead to about 30 people. There shouldn’t be a problem for the next film showings, keep a lookout in the magazine and at the notice boards and posters around the village, dates shown later in the magazine. Our next Cinema Night is on FRIDAY 17th NOVEMBER and we will be showing MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3, cert 12A. Tickets £3 Concessions £2 You can visit www.uip.co.uk which shows the films we can rent, if anyone wants to have a look and suggest films you would like, we would be pleased to hear from you. This is being written before our Cabaret Night on 21st October, tickets have sold well, if you missed it you missed what I know will be an excellent night from two very professional acts. Our next “Night Out” in the Hall is on 11th November When The Library Theatre Touring company is presenting WIND IN THE WILLOWS – THE MUSICALI am pleased to say our new volunteers on the committee are joining in very well and it is now much easier for us “old hands” now we have some help. I am also very pleased to tell you we secured a grant towards the deaf loop system of £350 from the Welsh Church Fund of Monmouthshire County Council and a “slightly” higher amount of £12,000 towards the car park extension, which is going to cost us in the region of £16,000 So, please, we need your on going support to raise this extra money. Does anyone have any unwanted Christmas decorations they do not want and would like to donate them to the hall? If you do, please contact one of the committee members. Joan Hereford very kindly gave us a Christmas tree last year, but we are a bit short of hanging decorations. You can contact us through the community website www.caerwentcom.com where all the information about forthcoming events is also shown. Congratulations to the October winners of the 200 CLUB
We now have some more members of the 200 CLUB, but it would be good if we have some more then we could increase the prize money. The easiest way to join is to fill out a standing order, or pay Muriel at the post office monthly if you don’t want to pay the £12.00 annually. We still have numbers available. Please contact Lesley Evans on 01291 420327. Remember the more people in it – the more the prize money will be. We hope to see you in the hall soon.
