Although I wasn't able to get to the Show this year (the first one I've missed!), I have heard all about it, and a report, results and photographs can be accessed from the website start page - you may have read it already. It seems we were lucky that the rain stopped just in time before the Show opened. The Flower & Vegetable Show went ahead as usual, although entries were down slightly on last year - we need to encourage more local people to enter. Now on to other things - this Newsletter is too late to advertise the next car boot sale on Saturday 28* September. This is usually the last one that we hold, however it will very much depend on the weather at the end of October - we may be lucky if the ground is not too wet, so keep a lockout for the signs, just in case. The Hallowe'en Disco is going ahead on Friday I November, 6 - 7.30pm for under 7's and 7.30 - 9pm over 7's. There will be prizes for the best dressed boy and girl in each session. Tickets are £2.50 each including hot dog and drink (extras for sale). Again, tickets available from Committee members. We are looking at holding another Race Night, probably early next year. As you can see from the above, we are trying to vary the events we are arranging so that there is something to suit everybody - we haven't heard back from any of the older residents as yet with suggestions for a function they would enjoy, but will do our best if we are given any ideas. There are also a couple of other things we are looking at for later this year and next spring including a shopping night in the Hall and an Auction, but they haven't been confirmed as yet - but Watch This Space!
