NEWSLETTER

JULY and AUGUST 2003

Dear Friends,

Jesus always had time for children. On one occasion when the disciples tried to discourage parents from bringing their little ones to him, Jesus did the very opposite!
Jesus called them to him, saying: "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God..."
Jesus welcomed the children - he took them up in his arms and he blessed them. Jesus, then as now, was warmer and much, much wiser than some who claimed to follow him!

We are grateful to those parents who bring their little ones to the various meetings that we hold. It is our conviction that the story of Jesus can only enrich the lives of children - and if through personal faith they come to know Christ as their Lord and Saviour, then they will be blessed indeed!

But Jesus went on to say:- "Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it".

However, Jesus is not suggesting that unless we come to Him when we are children, we cannot come at all, and He is certainly not saying that Christianity is suitable only for the intellectually immature.

He is saying that the kingdom of grace and love is something you receive with an open, trusting heart.

We wish you safe and happy holidays!
