NEWSLETTER

February 2001

It's a strange feeling when you sit down to write a few words for your community newsletter, knowing they could soon be read by somebody on the other side of the world (if they were interested).
In some ways we do live in a very small world - the Global Village is a reality.

Modern communications mean that you can speak to somebody on another continent as if they were sitting in another room with you.
The sad thing is that people are now so busy that they hardly have timem to speak to members of their own family, or to sit down for a few minutes to read a humble newsletter.
More than that, in the age of the car, not so many people walk and meet and talk - face to face, person to person.
One exception to this trend is provided by those who walk their dogs - if the dogs agree! Human conversation rescued by dogs who can't speak!

However marvellous modern communications are, there is something greater and more wonderful by far: Communication with GOD.
God speaks to mankind through his son the Lord Jesus Christ and in his word The Bible, and through the Gospel of His Grace.
We can speak to Him in prayer if we have faith in our hearts and approach Him through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the one mediator between God and humanity.

Sadly, too many are too busy to pray and life becomes much, much poorer. There is nothing on this earth like Communion with God in Heaven.

The Bible tells us that we are accountable for every word we utter.

Our EVERY word - heard, recorded, read.
It makes you think - or ought to!

E.Jones (pastor).
