The table is laid for tea in the garden of Caerwent Post Office in 1934.

The personalities in the picture were awaiting the arrival of archeologist Sir Mortimer Wheeler.
Standing, left to right, Mrs Etherington (wife of the village policeman), Frank Drower, and Lizzie Drower.
Seated, from left, Elizabeth Wood (Slough Farm), Mrs Mann (Mrs Etherington's mother) and Marjorie Drower (now Marjorie Morgan, still at the Post Office but a little older!).
