Corporal, South Wales Borderers, World War I Died (unknown) Location (unknown). Researching. William Morgan is so common a name in the military records that Gareth has not yet found his details. His battalion or service number are needed.
The family lived at Hillside Cottage, Caerwent. His father is remembered making coffins there, as part of the local funeral provision organised sometimes by Mr Drower, sometimes by himself. He is pictured here making a wagon wheel in the yard of The Ship. William himself is named on the Memorial in the Chapel. Edie, his half sister, still lives in the village and a lot of other relations live locally. |
